Black Léa Freedom Actress
On March 12th, the exhibition 'Léa Negra Atriz da Liberdade' opened at the Janete Costa Museum, in Niterói.
The exhibition, which ran until May, presented personal objects, photos, costumes, furniture and souvenirs from films and soap operas starring Léa Garcia, one of the greatest Brazilian actresses, who passed away in 2023.
The curator of the exhibition is Joel Vieira, who highlights the actress' ability to "transform realities". Renata Maria, from the company Mistic, is responsible for the executive production of the project.
Marcelo Garcia, Léa's son, celebrates yet another tribute to his mother and highlights her legacy to
Brazilian culture, remembering that the exhibition will soon be on display again.
Items in the exhibition include a municipal contract from 1972, the invitation to Cannes, original photos, magazines from the beginning of her career and awards won by the actress.
COLLECTION
Actress Léa Garcia's collection is made up of her audiovisual works, personal and work photographs, trophies, awards, tributes, clothes, accessories, furniture, relics and everything that was part of the actress's daily life and her story.
The collection will be on display from March 12th to May 12th at the Janete Costa Museum in Niterói for the exhibition 'Léa Negra Atriz da Liberdade'.
